Mary Rose Gunn

Chief Executive

Mary Rose has been a pioneer in the grant making space since 2012. She previously ran The Bulldog Trust and its public programmes at Two Temple Place, and worked within politics and the media. She is a Trustee of INTBAU and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. In 2018 she was named as one of the Pioneers Post’s 100 Women In Social Enterprise. In 2020 she became a Commissioner on the Law Family Commission on Civil Society.

Audrey Slade

Director of Strategy and Partnerships

Audrey Slade, Director of Strategy and Partnerships, joined The Fore in September 2017. Prior to starting at The Fore, Audrey was a strategy consultant to charities and social enterprises. Previously she held leadership positions in the economic development agencies of both London and New York City. Earlier in her career she worked in banking and corporate finance.

Outside of work, Audrey mentors and supports small charities and social enterprises.

Prakash Kurup

Finance Director

“Kash” (BCom, FCA, MBA) is a Chartered Accountant, fellow and life member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. Kash has over 30 years of experience advising small businesses and non-for-profits. He is also Trustee and Treasurer to four other UK charities: Border Crossings, Akademi South Asian Dance, Camden Carers Centre and Shivia.

Sherine Krause

Interim Director of Fundraising

Sherine has 15 years of experience leading in the charity sector. She is highly experienced in organisational strategy, policy, communications, and fundraising. She was previously Director of Fundraising and Communications for charities including Freedom from Torture, Action for Children and Action on Hearing Loss. She is also currently the Chair for the London based homelessness charity Spires.

Sophie Slater

Head of Communications and Impact

Sophie has 10 years of experience in the social sector. She was previously co-founder and CEO of an award-winning social enterprise. Sophie has provided communications, social media and press strategies for several start-ups and small charities. She also taught digital marketing for the School of Social Entrepreneurs. Specialising in mission driven communications and environmental sustainability, she now oversees The Fore’s website, press and events schedule. She has written for The Guardian and Vice magazine on workers’ rights.

Freya Turner

Programme Manager

Freya studied MSc Comparative Social Policy at University of Oxford. She now looks after our grants programme. She’s in charge of ensuring our portfolio charities have access to high quality training, mentoring and support. Before this she was Senior Coordinator at a small charity. She also spent a year as a social prescribing link worker on the frontline of the NHS. Outside of The Fore, Freya trains volunteers for Oxfordshire Rape Crisis Centre. She also plays and teaches piano.

Kate Hoyles

Partnerships Officer

Kate is responsible for helping to build our corporate and funding partnerships. Working together with our Fundraising Director, she ensures that we can extend our grant programmes to more innovative charities. Kate joined The Fore team in 2021. Her work has helped to scale our grants programme to over a hundred more small charities since then. Kate previously worked in Market Research for a consultancy. She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

Breeha Mazhar

Programme and Communications Officer

Breeha is responsible for  supporting hundreds of charities through our funding and skills programmes. She has built deep insight into what charities need to thrive, and how systems can be made fairer across the not-for-profit sector.

She also works closely with the Head of Communications to represent The Fore’s voice across its media channels. Outside of work, Breeha is a keen reader and baker.

Kelly Ruder

Programmes Assistant

Kelly first joined The Fore as Social Impact intern and is now in a permanent role. Her eye for data and analytical skills help track our industry leading impact as a grant maker. Kelly studied Psychology at university. She now helps nurture our community of portfolio charities. Kelly is responsible for sending out workshop, training and volunteering opportunities. She also designs our impact survey, and compiles insights to drive The Fore’s strategy and inform our team.
