Opera Prelude Request

Organisation Description

Established in 2010, Opera Prelude is a volunteer-led charity dedicated to advancing the understanding and accessibility of opera. We achieve this through the presentation of educational lecture recitals, masterclasses, concerts, workshops and an intergenerational outreach programme.

We support the professional development of post-graduate signers in the transitional period between leaving the Conservatoire and embarking on their professional careers. We offer them the opportunity to participate in our yearly programme of opera-related performances and outreach work.

We also present OperaWorks, which is an annual conference and professional development day for emerging young artists to experience interactive and insightful presentations delivered by established industry professionals and celebrated singers.

What are they looking for?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed trustee who can support us for a minimum of 2 years. The ideal candidate will have a love of opera or classical music, have a desire to support the next generation of talent, and is committed to helping us build a more diverse organisation. The following skills/experience would be an asset: - Corporate experience; - Legal; - Accountancy; - Marketing; - HR. However, a willingness to become part of our musical family is the most important qualification of all!
