Place for Hope equips people and faith communities to support them with navigating conflict well and reaching their potential to be peacemakers.

We offer a range of training courses that provide an understanding of conflict, skills in navigating difference, change and transition, and a renewed sense of hope in what is possible. Our training is accessible, interactive and encourages transformation in everyone.

We also facilitate important and potentially difficult conversations for faith groups, accompany faith communities struggling with a crisis of difference or conflict, and provide conflict coaching for individuals in positions of responsibility.

We are based in Scotland, but we work collaboratively in partnership with faith communities across the UK and beyond.

What are they looking for?

We are seeking a trustee with skills and experience of finance and/or fundraising to join our Board. We would also like the trustee to Chair our Finance and Funding Forum (a sub-committee of our Board) as we seek to grow our work and income in new directions as well as implement our 5-year funding strategy. Experience of overseeing financial governance and planning in a charity is advantageous. As our finance trustee, you are required to remotely attend 10 Board meetings per year and work with us in between, totalling to approximately 10 days work per annum. We also welcome expressions of interest from those without finance experience as we are seeking to recruit additional trustees. Our other trustee roles require your attendance at 4 online trustee meetings per year, an in-person away day, plus additional engagement in sub-committees and events if your capacity allows it.
