Strength and Learning Through Horses Request
Strength and Learning Through Horses offers equine therapy and equine assisted learning to young people up to the age of 25 who are in need of social and emotional support due to poor mental health, Learning Disabilities, behavioural difficulties or social isolation.
Young people work in small groups learning how to look after and train the horses, gaining life skills such as increased confidence, teamwork, resilience, perseverance and communication skills in the process. Those on our alternative education programmes work towards AQA units or a Prince’s Trust award, leading to a sense of achievement which many of them have not had in mainstream schooling.
What are they looking for?
As we prepare to move to a new premises in Mays Lane, Barnet, Hertfordshire and expand our equine therapy and education service offer to more young people, we are looking to expand our Trustee Board. We are specifically seeking applicants with any of the following skill sets or interests: - PR - Operations Management - Experience in competitive horse sport including the racing industry.
Timeframe:We hope to interview applicants in November and appoint as soon as practicable.
